If you're looking for something fun to do on a week night or weekend, check out the University of Minnesota Women's Volleyball Team. My daughter, who is 11 years old, has said that she'd really like to play volleyball so I thought it would be great if she got to see some really good volleyball players. The U of MN Women's team is ranked #9 in the nation and they were playing the #11 Nebraska Cornhuskers this afternoon at the Sports Pavilion on the U of MN campus. I suggested to my daughter that we go and she was really excited about going.
It was a very inexpensive outing. It cost us only $8 to park and our tickets were free. Two women were giving their extra tickets away and gave them to us. Otherwise, it still wouldn't have been terribly expensive. General Admission tickets for adults are $8 and children/students are $5. There really aren't any bad seats either. Here's a view from our seats.
The matches were close and the crowd was loud and the band was great - it was fantastic entertainment for a Sunday afternoon. (My daughter decided her favorite player is Adrianna Nora.) We can't wait to go back! I checked and they play at home on Friday and Saturday!
