Easy Knit Leg Warmers

So this is my first attempt at writing a knitting pattern.  It's for little girl leg warmers.  They are super easy and would knit up quick for a last minute gift or stocking stuffer.  The pattern can be easily altered for an adult size.  If you know how to knit and purl this could be your first foray into knitting in the round.

Here is what they look like using mid-weight sock yarn.
My daughter wears them for dance......
Or tucked in her boots to keep her legs warm on a chilly day......
Or as a cute accessory for an outfit for school.
The pattern is as follows for Hannah's Leg Warmers:

Supplies:  circular needle size 3 and sock yarn (you could also use double points size 3)

Cast on 58 stitches.  Join and work in 1 x 1 ribbing (knit one, purl one) for 1 1/2".  Next round, knit first two stitches together and knit stitches 27 and 28 together (56 stitches).
Knit for 9 1/2".  Decrease by six stitches (knit two togther approximately every 9th stitch (50 stitches).
Knit to 10 1/2".  Work in 1 x 1 ribbing (knit one, purl one) until work measures 12".
