Mummy Pretzel Sticks

It was a rainy Saturday so my daughter and I decided to do some Halloween cooking - a little early.  We made mummy pretzel sticks that are mmmm good!

We used white chocolate chips and melted them in a double boiler with a little bit of shortening to make the mixture really smooth.

We the chips were completely melted, I poured the mixture into a glass.
Then we took large pretzel rods and dipped them into the chocolate in the glass.

Once the pretzels were dipped, we laid them on parchment paper.
Before the chocolate dried, we took little candy eyes and added them to the top of the pretzel.

To make the mummies look like they were wrapped with gauze, we used bamboo skewers and a little extra chocolate to draw some lines.
It took a few tries for us to get the look just right.
Once they dried, they were ready to eat.
We put them in a little wine glass for display and easy pickins'!
