I finally got a chance to plant the flowers my daughter and I had picked out at the Minneapolis Farmers' Market. The flowers we chose are now my new favorite. They are called Dalina.
They are commonly grown as an annual but they can be grown as a perennial if their tubers are dug up shortly after the first frost. They bloom all summer in sun to partial shade. I had orange and white ones in my garden last year and they were spectacular! This year we chose pink and white. They are beautiful in a pot by my front door.
