Turkey Favors For Each Guest

I love Thanksgiving and there are a lot of crafty things to make to go on a Thanksgiving table.  We decided that each guest at our table needed a turkey who would be holding some special treats.  My daughter and my mom put together our "pattern" turkey.  Tonight we started on the turkeys for our guests.
We started with the turkey's feet.  I traced the feet on yellow paper and then cut them out.

Next, I traced his beak on yellow paper and cut it out.

Every turkey needs a waddle!

Here are our piles of feet, beaks and waddles.
The feathers are teardrop shaped and we used five different colors.  Our turkeys are going to look very festive!

The turkey's head and body are made from brown paper.  We used scrap brown paper from a roll for the head and the body we made from a brown paper bag.

We folded the paper for the body into a little "bowl" shape.  First fold it corner to corner.
Then fold the points on the edges in towards the middle.

Fold the top flap down towards you, then turn it over and fold that flap down.

Open the center into a "bowl".
Once the body is made, the head can be added.

Next add the feathers.

All turkeys need a beak and waddle.  Take the square for the beak and fold it corner to corner.  Add some glue and place it on the head.  Slide the waddle under the beak.

Little google eyes are next.

Lastly, the turkey needs to have his feet glued on.  Make sure you use plenty of glue and push the turkey down into the glue so not only will it stick but it will help the turkey stand upright.

Finally, a turkey fit for a Thanksgiving table.  We're going to fill ours with chocolate treats for our guests and put them right next to our pumpkin placecards!
