I'm not really big on main stream media popular things like the big blockbuster movies or books recommended by Oprah or Top 40 radio or who's who in People Magazine BUT those thoughts go right out the window when it comes to "Downton Abbey" on PBS.
If you watch any TV, read popular magazines or even listen to the radio, you're certain to have heard about the very celebrated PBS series "Downton Abbey". The third season begins on Sunday, January 6th at 8pm Central Time. Netflix carries seasons 1 and 2. I've also seen the DVDs at the library and for purchase on Amazon.com. You most definitely need to watch the first two seasons BEFORE watching season 3.
If you go to the PBS webpage at www.pbs.org, the first page is full of "Downton Abbey" clips and episodes. It's a Masterpiece series that begins in England prior to World War I. It's based on the relationship of the upstairs aristocracy and the downstairs help. It delves into the lives of the characters and the hardships/responsibilities in each class. There's romance, conflict, murder, drama, fights - everything that draws you in and keeps you watching.
There's still time to get caught up on the first two series before season 3 starts on Sunday!
"You've lived your life, and I've lived mine. Now it's time we live them together." -Matthew (Downton Abbey)
