What's the best way to prepare for the 6 to 12 inches of snow we're expecting? By going out for ice cream of course! After my daughter's theater dance class tonight, we walked over to Grandpa's Ice Cream in the Moore Lake Plaza in Fridley, MN. grandpasicecream.biz
They have the best ice cream around! It's all homemade and they have a wide variety of flavors. You can get it in a cone (many different kinds of cones) or in a cup. They also have smoothies and malts, sundaes and banana splits. Anything ice cream related, they have. My daughter had her favorite, cotton candy in a waffle cone.
And I had my favorite, salted caramel in a cup.
It's a cute little ice cream shop with very friendly owners. The owners are a husband and wife team. We spoke with the wife tonight about one of their community actions. Their shop is donating ice cream, appropriately named Trail Mix (salted caramel ice cream with M&Ms, peanuts and chocolate covered pretzels), to our local nature center, Springbrook Nature Center, for their Earth Day celebration. Then on Earth Day, Grandpa's Ice Cream is donating 15% of all of their sales to Springbrook Nature Center. A great way to support a wonderful asset to our community.
Not sure that we will make this a weekly "after dance" destination but maybe every other week!
